Looking To The Dawn

On a cold Christmas day
With little to say
She looked upon a new home
Her dark eyes did roam

To the sea beyond, the tide was in
And the mistle toe hung within
She awaited the moment in time
Repaid harshness with all that was kind

She looked once more
To the new sturdy door
The home full of life
And the rogue who called her wife

With the new year she found hope and joy
And on her lips rests a smile so coy
She will carry on, she finds it easier each day
Love and happiness not such a bad price to pay
